Jonny Pugh is an architect, designer and educator working between Porto, Barcelona and London.
He has trained at the Mackintosh School of Architecture/Glasgow School of Art, 2005 (Bachelor of Architecture), the Royal College of Art, London, 2008 (Master of Architecture), and the Bartlett School of Architecture, London, 2013 (Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice and Management).
His work is focused on participatory design processes, rehabilitation and reuse. He has been commissioned by a broad range of public and cultural institutions and has taught/lectured in the field of architecture at universities such as The Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art/ESALA, Cambridge, Nottingham, CASS + Royal College of Art (London), FAUP (Porto), ETH Zürich, Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, and the international School of Re-Construction.
In practice, he is a collaborator with Barcelona based studio Flores & Prats since 2005, and was an associate of the London based practice Agents Of Change from 2010-2016 where he led the process of the award-winning low energy community centre ‘The Green’. He works with cross-disciplinary design collectives such as Atelier Urban Nomads and Living City. In 2023 he co-founded the association NADA NOVO / NO NEWS, focused on exploring the cultural challenges of material reuse in Portugal.
